Summary[edit]

Description Experiment - white balance test of the interior of the Long Beach Arena to determine which <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature">color temperature</a> provides the best result. Took 31 test shots each with the white balance set to a different temperature - lowest 2500° Kelvin - highest 10000° Kelvin. On the LCD on the back of my Nikon D200 the best color looked like 3200°K but in viewing the images on my computer 3600°K looked best. When white balance of 'automatic' is selected on my D200 camera the color shifts towards the orange side, hence this test to determine a more optimal white balance setting on future exposures. NOTE: This test is relevant only when taking JPEGs - if RAW format is used the color is adjusted later on the computer.
